Start the Year Off Green!
It's been awhile since we've been able to talk Green to you all, so let's catch up! King County Green Schools Program sent some information back in June that could still apply to educators and families now:
Online learning resources for educators, students, families, and school nutrition professionals
- Check out FoodCorp resources on nutrition, cooking, and gardening. The mission of FoodCorp is to connect children to healthy school foods.
- FoodCorp resources for educators, nutrition professionals, families, and community members to help them support those impacted by COVID-19.
- FoodCorp AmeriCorp members produced practical hands-on video lessons on cooking, nutrition, and gardening. The lessons were designed for students in grades K - 5 and follow Next Generation Science Standards or Common Core State Standards.
- FoodCorps lesson plans to support
remote learning for students in grades K –
5 (ages 5 – 11). The school garden lessons were designed for up to 25
students but can be led by an individual with one child or a small group
of children in a kitchen or backyard garden.
Review this material at your own pace and please reach out to the Green Team members if you have any questions! :)
