King County Green Schools Sustainability Scavenger Hunt Challenge – through December 16

King County Green Schools is offering a scavenger hunt challenge using the mobile app GooseChase. Every day, at least two “missions” are released, consisting of trivia, photo challenges, or action steps. You can start to participate anytime through December 16! Players can work solo, with family members, or with school teams to learn about sustainability and take action. To participate:

1.Download the free GooseChase app- Google Play or the App Store. 
2. Create an account or log in as a guest.
3. Enter the game code L738ZB or search for “King County Green Schools Sustainability Challenge.”
4. Select or create your team. Teams can have a single member.

Program support and virtual offerings in 2020-21

Webinars to attend!

Webinars, virtual gatherings, a podcast, monthly Green Team Activities, and a Sustainability Scavenger Hunt are available and focused on:

1. Student learning about sustainability.
2. Student and student team sustainability actions at home and in their communities.
3. Collaboration between students, teachers, and other school community members.
4. Student leadership, initiative, advocacy, and creativity will be encouraged. Learn more and register for virtual programs HERE.

Virtual student workshops offered by Nature Vision

Nature Vision offers virtual 45 - 60 minute NGSS-supported science programs to K-12 classes.

Option 1: Pre-recorded Video & Remote Activity Bundle (asynchronous): Teachers can lead these according to their class schedules. They come with an optional 15-minute video call Q&A session between a Nature Vision educator, students, and teacher. Click Here for a List of Available Pre-Recorded Video Programs

Option 2: Video Call Programs (synchronous): These educator-led programs for your class are delivered via a video call meeting through your district’s preferred platform. The teacher’s presence is required. Click Here for a List of Available Video Call Programs

Option 3: Remote K-12 Packets. The five-day lessons offer topics for four grade-bands. No registration required. Visit naturevision.org/student-packets to see topics and download for free.
